Lexico Partners exists for a specific kind of firm: the boutique law or advisory practice that is excellent at the work, and invisible in the market. Too small to justify a full-time CMO. Too specialised for a generic agency. Too busy billing to run marketing internally.
We fill that gap as an embedded strategic partner — marketing, business development and AI-integration leadership, several days a month, at senior level.
The rooms we come from
We have spent our careers in and around the professions — working alongside lawyers, accountants, board members, regulators and C-level executives, in settings where discretion is assumed and credibility is earned through method, not volume.
That experience shapes everything about how we operate. We understand why a partner hesitates before putting their name to a byline. We understand what a general counsel checks before a firm goes on a panel, and what a board asks before a name goes into a tender. We understand the difference between the rankings that are researched and the ones that are sold — and why confusing the two damages a firm with precisely the audience it most wants to impress.
We also understand, from the inside, how institutions communicate when the stakes are real: how standards bodies build consensus across markets, how regulated organisations weigh every public word, and how sensitive information is handled when mishandling it is not an option.
Years of that experience were spent inside government. That matters when your firm bids for public-sector work: we know how agencies think, procure and evaluate, because we have read tenders from the other side of the table. A bid written to how government actually scores — clarity, compliance, evidence of delivery — reads very differently from one written like a brochure.
Confidentiality, for us, is not a clause in the engagement letter. It is a working habit formed long before Lexico existed.
How we work
We are not lawyers, accountants or auditors, and we do not hold ourselves out as any of these. Lexico provides strategy, structure, project management, narrative and editorial discipline. Your experts provide the substance — and sign off on every substantive output before it goes anywhere. That division of labour is deliberate. It is how professional services marketing is done properly, and it is non-negotiable.

Lexico leads
We identify the topic, the angle and the audience — what the market is asking, what your practice can credibly own, and where it should appear. You approve the direction before anyone writes a word.
The same discipline applies to directory submissions, pitches and every other substantive output.
Everything is delivered by the people you engage. No account layers, no juniors learning on your fees, no work product you would not recognise as your own.
What we will tell you not to do
Part of our value is subtraction. Pay-to-play directories, vanity awards, hype-driven AI adoption — these cost boutique firms real money and real credibility every year. Declining them, clearly and with reasons, is part of the advice. When something is not worth your time, we say so.
